Library Tour:-

  • Various Sections of Library:-
  • Acquisition Section-

It deals with Book Purchasing. At the beginning of any academic year once the book vendors are fixed by the institution, Library acquisition section ask for books requirement from various faculties. After finalizing the budget in LAC meeting the said number of books are demanded, purchased and accessioned by this section of library

  • Classification Section-

Once the books are accessioned, needs to be classified subject wise for finding its proper location and avoiding misplace. Our library has adopted DDC classification scheme for classifying documents.

  • Circulation Section-

Library has separate book issue-return counter, we issued books for limit period.

  • Reading Hall-

Our library has Two Separate reading hall for MBA library. Timings are extended during exam period.

  • Stack Room-

The main area of library collection is known as Library Stack Room. We have huge collection and library furniture in which books are arranged subject wise.

  • Periodical Section-

We have subscribed to print Journals/ Magazines. We also have online database which has more than 134+ online journals.


Library (Knowledge Resource Centre):-

'Library' is Heart of any educational institute. It plays a vital role in the education of students from all aspects. Sinhgad Business School has running MBA library from 2007. It has two separate reading halls.

Library has use to State-of-the-art ERP based GEMS Software which is fully Automated with web OPAC.

Traditional library approach is now replaced with user oriented approach with the use of technical advancements for delivering services. It has very rich and good collection of books more than 17699 books and periodicals, which is now moving towards the digital environment gradually.

Web OPAC:-

“Online Public Access Catalogue” reflects the total collection of library. Our Library is automated by using ‘’ GEMS ‘’ Software for all its sections. WEB OPAC is special service given by library to browse its collection with the help of computer. OPAC service is provided with login Id base for students & faculty for access. One can search the title by author, keyword, publisher etc. and English language. Once the keyword is entered he will get results of book or journal.

Rules & Regulations:-

  1. Please maintain silence in the library.
  2. Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited. If any use is found talking on the phone strict action will be taken against that person.
  3. Smoking, eating, chewing gum is strictly prohibited.
  4. Students are supposed to keep their bags, personal reading material and other belongings outside the library. Students are advised not to keep their valuable things inside the bag at the counter.

THE LIBRARY STAFF ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOSS OR DAMAGE OF STUDENTS BELONGINGS

  1. Students will not be allowed to use the library during lectures hours.
  2. Students are requested to keep the books/magazines or any other material used in its respective place.
  3. No library material will be taken out of the library without the permission of the librarian.
  4. Books/Periodicals or any other library material can be issued only after showing a valid I-Card.
  5. Books once issued will not be returned on the same day.
  6. No library material can be issued by any person on someone else's I-Card.
  7. Each student can issue 4 books on one card for period of 15 days.
  8. Faculties can issue 07 books on one card for the period of 30 days.
  9. A book issued can be renewed on or before the due date, "once" for a period of 15 more days only.
  10. A late fine of Rs. 02 will be charged per book per day.
  11. No books can be issued once the fine crosses Rs. 50.00
  12. Issuing will be restored once the dues are paid in the accounts section and by showing the receipt to library of the same.
  13. Books returned to the library will not be issued to anyone for a period or 3 hours.
  14. Students should ensure the condition of the book before issuing it and inform the librarian about the missing or torn pages if any. Otherwise the concerned student will be held responsible for the same.
  15. If a book is lost, the concerned person has to replace the lost book with a new book, as well as pay the late fine.
  16. Any library material is taken out of the library for photocopying will have to be returned within an hour. Necessary action will be taken against the users failing to do so.
  17. A new I-card can be issued by paying a fine of Rs. 50 in the accounts department and submitting the receipt of the same to the librarian.
  18. Library Rules may be amended or altered as & when necessary.

Librarian's Day:

National Librarians’ Day is observed on 12 August every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Padmashri Dr S. R. Ranganathan (1892-1972), Who is considered as the father of library science in India. Dr. Ranganathan dedicated his entire life to the library profession in India leaving a rich legacy.

Readers Day:

October 15, the birthday of former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is  celebrated as "Maharashtra Reading Day" at Sinhgad Business School. "Kalam's writings had vision... He always mentioned that India is going to be a superpower, visualised it and wrote in his books which have inspired an entire generation,"
